The British Titanic Society was founded in 1986 and is one of the most respected Titanic research organisations in the United Kingdom. Based in Bolton, Lancashire — a town that lost a number of crew members in the disaster — the Society is dedicated to the memory of RMS Titanic and all those who sailed in her, and to the advancement of historical research into the ship and her story.
The Society publishes the Atlantic Daily Bulletin, a respected journal featuring original research, historical articles, survivor accounts, and news from the world of Titanic scholarship. Its annual conventions bring together leading historians, authors, and enthusiasts for talks, exhibitions, and commemorations.
As a member of the Historic Ships Network, the British Titanic Society contributes decades of accumulated scholarship and community to the global alliance dedicated to maritime heritage preservation.
